Amazing-would-be-an-understatement for this Romantic-comedy zombie anime Sankarea

Sankarea is an anime my boyfriend was really excited about when I showed him the Spring 2012 anime list and seeing that I knew exactly what kind of anime he usually likes. If it's not the hard core shonen kind of anime it would be those shonen-ecchi genre just like the earlier post I had with HS DXD. Although I wasn't really into this anime as much as my boyfriend was I still watched the first episode with him though just how the anime freak I am. What I felt when I watched the anime was a tad bit surprising on my part. It was a really good anime, way better than I expected. This is why I watch an anime first before judging it.

The anime is about the protagonist Furuya who has a huge obsession with zombies. He has a lot of things zombie-related and all he watches are zombie movies, his head is just full of zombie craziness to the point that he would only be interested with the opposite gender if she were a zombie. One day, his pet Babu died and he was in so much pain that he wanted to bring Babu back to life. Here started his zombie experiment to resurrect Babu after getting a hold of this mysterious book that gives the details on how to go about doing just that. He diligently did all this every night at an abandoned building in a nearby forest.
Meanwhile, Rea, the most popular girl in their school's next door neighbor all-girls school has a lot of things going on in her life that she shouts all of her frustrations and anger every night at this well just right outside where Furuya is doing his experiments. Furuya got to witness this every night as well when all of a sudden because of a little ruckus on his part, he was discovered by Rea who was excited and curious as hell about his experiments. She told him that she'll help him with the experiments. During the course of this all, Rea made Furuya promise to resurrect her if she dies.
What happens if they were successful in their zombie experiment? If Rea dies and Furuya resurrects her than wouldn't that make Furuya's dream a reality? How far are they willing to go to make their dreams come true?

Story: 10/10
I just feel like this is a unique story. The whole series started in a very great way and I watched the most recent episode (10) and it's been great so far. I don't have any qualms with it. Humor is amazing, story as well. It's not dragging. I don't feel bored watching it. Hell, it's just awesome!
 Animation: 10/10
Awesome art and animation!!! Rea is just so cute, except for the ecchi parts with all the females in this anime, I don't have any more complaints. Furuya is just too cute with that hair as well!!!! Great job!
Characters: 9/10
The protagonists are amazing but the other characters are not much. Furuysa's younger sister is doing a great job being indifferent at times as well as his cousin but Rea's family, not so.
Soundtrack: 8/10
The background tracks are great but the opening and ending songs are not something I like that much.

Overall: 9/10
Great anime to watch!!!!!!!!!! Story is great and animation as well. This anime surely is something you'll have fun watching!

Exciting Basketball anime has come - make way for KUROKO NO BASKET!!!

The Basketball that Kuroko Plays, the title makes my boyfriend laugh so hard because it's too long so let's just settle with the Japanese title, Kuroko no Basket to avoid any reaction of that sort. This was a title that I picked up more than a year ago when I was looking for any good shonen manga read and I was choosing one from Shonen Jump because I know anything would be most likely a good read from that magazine. I read through it up to the recently released scanlated chapters at that time around volume 6 then I dropped it. That's one bad thing about me, I really am not the type of person to wait for an update a week, a month. I just read it again after a couple months or so even a year after I read it last. Just like how I want to go on an anime marathon and run through all the episodes in a day or so. Nevertheless, I remembered having a good time reading this manga so when I saw that it will be animated, I was excited on how it goes. Seeing how Area no Kishi is not being faithful to the manga (I read the manga after watching 2 or 3 episodes of the anime and somehow got disappointed on how the anime series went), I was pleasantly surprised to see the anime being faithful to the manga I liked so far. I've watched 11 episodes so far and it's still faithful to the manga so I believe there might be a chance that this will go on for more than 1 season but on the other side, Giant Killing was faithful but never got a 2nd season. Since this is a Jump manga hopefully it does just like how all the most of the other Jump mangas out there are right now.

Story: 7/10
Although I am a sporty person and have watched couple sports anime so far, the story is typical in a way. It's how it is presented that would make it better. The anime has been good so far. Better than what I expected. I love how the anime is specially funny and serious at times. The pace is also good, not so fast and not too slow either. 
Animation: 10/10
One of the reasons why I love watching this anime is because of the great animation that the production team has done a hell of a job on doing. The art is great and the basketball plays are awesome. You will see the very big difference between anime produced now and what it was like 15 years ago watching Slamdunk (but it was still great nevertheless).
Characters: 9/10
Everything was done amazingly. The seiyuus are great, I don't see that much lapses but I still wouldn't give it a 10. Sometimes Kagami sounds weird but Kuroko is great and I love Kise's seiyuu so far.
Soundtrack: 10/10
Hands down for the great opening and ending songs!!!! Great soundtrack!

All in all, I'll give this anime a 9/10. Every sports-anime loving person out there should not miss out on this great anime. One of the good anime's released for Spring. Hopefully it gets a 2nd season. I'll be reading the manga now....

Heart-warming movie: The Girl Who Leapt Through Time!

I've been intending to watch this movie a couple months now after seeing it as one of the top-recommended anime movies out there. The Girl who Leapt through Time is a very heartwarming movie and subtly done but all the elements are great that makes this movie a great watch! Beware of spoilers!

Story: 9/10
The story revolves around Makoto, a high school girl who inadvertently discovers how to "leap through time" by literally leaping... she can go back to the past. After learning how to go about doing this, Makoto deliberately uses and abuses this ability on almost everything her somewhat boring life has to offer. From wanting to maximize an hour's worth of karaoke, she goes back to the past so that she can sing her out for more than an hour and she does so until she grows tired of it. She uses this ability on a lot of petty things but little did she know that this ability has some limitation to it. What if she loses it when she needs it the most? What happens then?
"TIME WAITS FOR NO ONE" is the message that the movie wants to convey.
Why a 9? I would've given it a 10 but I just don't like how almost, if not all, Japanese movies are so open-ended and just leaves you hanging there with more questions than when you initially started! Sorry, sometimes you just would like to know the answer, right? There's not much in this movie, it just revolves around Makoto, her 2 friends, Chiaki and Kousuke, and, basically, what goes on with their everyday lives. When you just feel like strolling through life, you tend to forget about what's important and what's not. You tend to overlook some things that you thought never mattered and only do you realize it's importance when you lose it. This movie also happens to teach you Newton's Law of Action-Reaction, that in every action, there's always an equal reaction. Whenever Makoto tries to go back in the past to change something, there would most probably something or someone who'll be affected depending on the degree of the change. Just like how she didn't like to confront Chiaki's feelings for her, and tried to go back in time to escape or run away, in the end -- her girl best friend confessed and Chiaki accepted which pained her. When she tries to go back in time to hook Kousuke and girl who likes him up, the price was their life. When she tried to get everything back in order, the price was for Chiaki to say goodbye to her forever. When she fixed everything up from when she gained the ability, the bargain was to say goodbye to Chiaki once again. This movie tries to teach us to live without regrets to avoid thinking of going back to change something. We should not hold ourselves back from reaching what we want. We must not escape from what we feel. We should not hide or run away from whatever we fear confronting. That's how precious time and our lives are.
Characters: 10/10
The characters were well-made. The seiyuus amazing but I just regret watching it english dubbed but nevertheless, I watched the first part of it in Japanese before and I knew it was good. I particularly love Chiaki!
Soundtrack: 10/10
The soundtrack was awesome! I cried my heart out during the Makoto's last time-leap scene!

Mirai Nikki - weird, eerie, bloody yet interesting find

Mirai Nikki was something I picked up randomly since there were a lot of new anime series back late 2011 but watching the first episode made me want to watch more and see how it unravels. The anime is still ongoing and I am still catching up coz I was all busy from work, reading mangas, watching other anime. Nevertheless, here it is.

Mirai Nikki is all about, as what the name says, future diaries. Here, we are introduced to a world where a select few who are so diligent in keeping records of their daily lives are rewarded with a future diary unique to each owner. Future diary basically is a diary that can tell what happens in the future and the good thing about this series is that the future actually changes based on the owner's actions so he can actually change what happens in the future. Good enough to understand right? The thing is, the "god" who gave them this power actually is pretty cruel since there are 13 future diary owners, he wants all of them to kill each other and whoever emerges as the victor would replace him to become the "god of time". Cliche as it may sound especially since I just watched Hunger Games last night and stuff like this remind me of those battle for survival plots such as Battle Royale but it's actually cool in a way because when future diary owners clash, what happens now? Well, for me - personally, the whole thing actually becomes something that came from predictable to unpredictable. How? Well, if two people have different unique characteristics in their future diaries and they both predict something in the future, whatever they know - they would eventually take advantage of it and if it's gonna bad on their part, they would need to change it to save their life. Both their actions would affect both diaries and in a fast-pacing environment where there are a lot of chasing done, wouldn't it actually be exciting to see how these owners make use of their diary and try to survive this competition?
Anyhow, I missed a lot of stuff up there. The main character is Yuki who was the very first future diary owner and is thought to be the strongest but is actually protected most, if not all, of the time by Yuno - the second diary owner who is obsessively in love with Yuki. They go on a roller-coaster ride of getting rid of diary owners who are trying to get rid of them and along the way they meet people, good and bad.
The anime is promising and I heard the manga is good. I might contemplate on reading it. The seiyuus are great! The soundtrack, not so much. The anime had a good start. I hope it finishes off with a bang!

Giant Killing - Utterly superb!

When this anime came out last year, I wanted to try watching it but never had the chance to - maybe I wasn't motivated enough then. Now, after I read some reviews of Area No Kishi - there were some negative reactions and some compared it to Giant Killing where they mentioned that it was not as amazing as the latter. Seeing how Area No Kishi is still currently airing and after reading all the scanlated chapters who wouldn't want to pick up another sports anime series title?!?!?! I just had to, you know?!? And boy was I surprised at what was in store for me. I am just so glad I decided to watch this series! I've been watching shonen sports anime from time to time, titles such as Prince of Tennis, Eyeshield 21, Overdrive, Initial D, Slamdunk, Area no Kishi - what not... but Giant Killing was the only seinen genre under the sports category that I have watched so far. Maybe because I've matured enough coz I am turning 24 this year and I watched those other anime like 5 years ago. Sometimes you would just like to watch a realistic sports anime but at the same time would still give you the same amount of excitement. Despite my busy schedule because of work, I managed to squeeze in some time to watch the whole series (26 eps) in a week. Well, I watched it twice actually in a week coz I had to watch it all over again with my boyfriend.

The story starts off with East Tokyo United, a soccer club that is basically the weakest in the Japanese Soccer League scene. When the general manager Goto decided to hire Tatsumi, an ex-ace striker of the team to become the team's manager - the team's reputation of being the weakest in the league might just take a 180 degree change. Tatsumi's determination to topple all the strong football teams and release the team's "Giant Killing" nature in them along with the team's loyal fans' support - is this enough to rampage through the storm and have the team make a name for themselves? You just have to watch the anime and read the manga to find out, right??!
That being said, I totally recommend this manga to all anime enthusiasts who wants to watch a realistic, fun and exciting sports anime. This should be one of the best anime under the sports genre, I would dare say. The plot, the characters, the seiyuu, the animation, the soundtrack, I don't have a teeny bit of complaint in any of those aspects.
MY ONLY COMPLAINT WOULD BE, WHEN WILL THIS ANIME GET A 2ND SEASON?!?!? I hope they would give this anime one since the anime was such a cliffhanger!!!!
Don't forget to watch this anime!!!!!!

The rebirth of my POT freakiness!!!!

I loved watching Prince of Tennis before. I had a marathon watching all episodes before in 3 days and I was so psyched when I found out the manga was being continued and now it has come to our television screens once more! This is so nostalgic! I am seeing my favorite Seigaku once again! I think this anime doesn't even need some introduction because every anime fan out there should've at least heard about it but anyways, this time the crew is back to prove themselves that they can be part of Japan's U-17 tennis team. All the best high school and middle school players are being invited to get a chance to display their skills in this tough selection process. That alone should let you know that this series is action-packed with cool, unbelievable, unrealistic tennis matches but it is what makes this anime great! That's what anime stuff should be -- full of imagination! I rarely like slice of life if you should know. LOL.

Anyhow, I am just so happy to see my beloved Eiji and Echizen, my two favorite characters in this anime, once again!!! Yipeee!!!!!!!!!!!! So far, it's great!

promising ecchi anime - HIGH SCHOOL DXD

I, for one, do not really like ecchi anime but there are a few animes out there that I can tolerate the ecchi part as long as the story is good enough such as Air Gear, Ikki Tousen, High School of the Dead, etc. Now, I encountered this series, High School Dxd and I know my boyfriend would be interested in watching this so I we watched the first episode. I didn't like it at first but after watching the first episode, unbelievably... I thought it was good because there were other elements I think that makes this anime worth watching, worth enough to overlook the echhi stuff in it and it's also fun to watch.
Basically, the series is all about Issei who is a natural pervert who was killed by his first girlfriend on their first date who turned out to be a fallen angel. He was saved and reincarnated as a demon by his' school's most popular girl, Rias Gremory, who happens to be an heir to one of the high ranking demon families. From there, Issei's adventure as a demon starts.
The story is fun to watch and at the same time interesting since I know there might be something deeper than just watching all those ecchi stuff. The series can be serious when it has to be.
This anime is surely recommended to guys who love watching ecchi stuff and some stupid guy whose dream is to become a harem king and action-packed stuff as well.

Aquarion Evol - promising winter mecha anime!

After watching the first special almost-an-hour long first episode, I loved the anime right away. The anime is full of CGI but it was great nevertheless. 4 years ago, I was not a big mecha anime fan and I loved Code Geass which had mecha stuff in it although it was not really the main part of the anime. Then my boyfriend did a lot of convincing to make me watch Gundam 00 and when I did, it was the beginning of a newfound interest in mecha anime. From then on, I started watching Gundam Seed and Gundam Seed Destiny, went on to watch Gundam Wing then the most recent one was Eureka Seven. Now, Aquarion Evol came into the picture and I am certainly loving it. Hope the story buildup would be excellent.

Aquarion Evol is all about Amata Sora who had a special power of levitation but hid it because he received a lot of hate because of it from when he was young. One day, he met a girl named Mikono and spent the whole day with her when suddenly villains appeared and attacked the city. Both of them were in danger so he used his power to save Mikono and himself. When he released his power, he unknowingly awakened Aquarion, a legendary weapon and they were able to save the city, beat the bad guys and stuff.
This is just a way too general synopsis but that's basically how the anime is. You have to watch the anime itself to know what I am raving about. The best thing in this anime for me is the soundtrack! I definitely love the opening song and I am going to download it once it is released. Here's the anime's opening theme.

I am really looking forward to watching the whole season! Don't waste any more of your precious time looking for some great anime to watch! Start watching this anime, NOW!

Area no Kishi - great sports anime for this year!

I just watched the first two episodes of this anime and I might be reading the manga if I have the time but so far it's a pretty good anime. The last time I watched a sports anime was Major and the last time I read one was Kuroku no Basket and New Prince of Tennis both of which have an anime aired this year.

Area no Kishi is about Kakeru who half-heartedly quit playing soccer but still became the team's manager nevertheless. His older brother who is famed to be Japan's under-15 ace has really high hopes for Kakeru and still believes that he has the ability to be the best striker of Japan. The title Area no Kishi means "Knight in the Area" which meant per the anime that in a soccer game if Kakeru's brother was the midfield king then Kakeru is the striker knight. Area here means the box that you see on a soccer field just right where the goal is. Kakeru was supposed to be a very skillful soccer player but was paranoid at using his left leg when it caused someone to be injured when he kicked the ball using it. His brother still hasn't given up on his hopes though so one day during a practice match, he made Kakeru his team's striker. Will Kakeru admit that he still loves playing soccer or will he still remain as a manager? Will he be up for the challenge to become Japan's best? Just watch and find out!

Guilty Crown - lovin' it!

I've been looking forward to watching this new anime series ever since I found its PV quite interesting and I also loved the song along with that PV as well. I had the time to watch it yesterday and I have to say, it was a bit boring or dragging during the first half but by the last 5 minutes of the episode, it was truly a roller-coaster ride and I do hope it stays that way. Not that I am looking for a fast-paced anime but a shonen anime in the action genre doesn't really fit a slow pace plot development. Nevertheless, I'll go ahead and watch the rest of this series and I hope it won't disappoint me.

After the outbreak of the unidentified virus "Lost Christmas" in 2029, Japan has been under the control of a multi-nation organization called GHQ. Ohma Shu is a 17 year old boy who has a psychic power in his right hand. He can use the power "Ability of King" to extract tools or weapons from his friends. He has been avoiding making trouble for others but his life changes when he meets a girl Yuzuriha Inori, a member of a resistance guerrilla group called "Undertaker", whose members pilot mecha weapons to fight against the government. Basically, I can't really give a synopsis from what I just watched since I didn't even understand what was going on yet so I just borrowed one from ANN. So there it goes, pretty much interesting and a bit cliched as well but the graphics were just great! I found the songs unique and the background music was good too.
Overall, it's something worth watching for this fall season. I hope you find it interesting too!

Persona 4 - an interesting find

Persona 4 is an anime adaptation of a popular video game with the same title. It's actually, basically, about a guy Narukami who just transferred in. He seems like someone who is just plain bored with life. He became friends with his classmates, Chie, Yosuke and Amagi. One day, they were discussing about a famous TV reporter's murder in their place and with it came up the rumor about a mysterious channel turning on at midnight.

Narukami who just happened to be stuck in his living room at midnight encountered the reality of the rumor and saw the mysterious midnight channel and found himself being sucked in to the television. Fortunately, he escaped from being sucked in since the television was small for him to fit in. He told Yosuke and Chie about his experience. They had mixed reactions of what happened but were interested at the same time. When they were talking about Narukami's experience, they were at Yosuke's family's business establishment that was selling household appliances and they were in front of a television. Suddenly, the next thing they knew, the 3 of them were sucked in to a different dimension with a lot of weird creatures and Narukami summoning something to fight them off. So what now?
I'm not really familiar with this video game franchise simply because I don't play video games but I decided to watch it anyways. Everything was good but not really exceptional. Nothing really that great. The biggest letdown for me was their uniform though. It was annoying and it was really bugging me. I felt uncomfortable watching those weird uniforms.
I don't have much to say about this anime since I'm not even sure if I'll watch this for long because it really didn't leave that much impact but I might be watching for the next 2 or 3 episodes and see how it goes. But for you guys who like fighting anime stuff, this one is good for you. I want to find out a deeper plot and if it is good, I might love this series eventually.

Kimi to Boku - Pure Laidback Humor

This post's title doesn't really make any sense, does it?
Anyways, I watched Kimi to Boku out of curiousity. If you ask me, slice-of-life anime doesn't really interest me that much although I do read some shoujo slice-of-life mangas but this anime was shonen to boot. That was not really my thing. INITIALLY. To my surprise, I enjoyed it quite more than I expected. I thought that watching the first 5 minutes would be enough to make me hit the close button on the page but I lingered and that next thing I knew, it was over and I wanted more! WOW!
So, basically, as what I just mentioned Kimi to Boku is a slice-of-life shonen anime about 4 childhood friends. The story revolves around their friendship and their everyday lives as high school students. The 4 of them have totally different personalities but despite that they remain friends and still hang out even if they are in different classes. I haven't read the manga so I don't know much yet but from what I read in many synopsis, there will be a guy who would join this circle of friends and would bring some change.
I dare say that that summary doesn't sound a least bit interesting to me but you just have to see it to know what I mean. I never was a fan of the slice-of-life genre and I have to say, if I'm not mistaken, this is the first slice-of life anime that I have watched. Really.
What I love about this anime is, of course, the characters and the bond they have -- their friendship. Watching the anime makes me think and wonder how totally different people actually become friends for a long time especially when they even have few similar interests at all. The friendship that the characters portray is very evident even when you are just listening to their ordinary conversations.
Forgive me for this review because I know that you might just say, "That's what a slice-of-life genre works, right?" Well, I'm new with this stuff so please bear with me.
Kudos to the voice actors for making me hook with this anime even after just one episode. Each of the character's personality were portrayed well, thanks to them. I love all of them and I can't wait for the other guy's appearance and see what he will bring.
I love the subtlety and the simplicity of the anime because when the animation is simple, other important things become clear such as seiyuus, conversations, facial expressions, etc unlike action anime that would simply highlight the action scenes more.
Well, as far as I know, I enjoyed watching the first episode. I can't wait for the next one, next week!
So for y'all who wants a refreshing anime who feel tired watching the same old action animes, you can add Kimi to Boku in your must-watch anime every week! It will run for 12 episodes only so just squeeze it in to your hectic schedules and I'm sure you'll have a good time, like I did. Hopefully, you do enjoy it or you'll blame me for wasting all your time. :-)

THEY ARE BACK! - Hunter X Hunter (2011)

 

Let's face it, almost every person out there who watches anime have already heard about Hunter X Hunter and most of them probably watched the original series, their OVAs included. Anyhow, it seems that most people are still pretty psyched and excited, at the same time anxious, of this remake. This anime is a remake of the 1999 anime which is an adaptation of the still running manga of the same title. 

For you guys who haven't watched or read Hunter X Hunter, I believe a brief and simple introduction is a must. Basically, Gon, the main protagonist decides to become a hunter to search for his dad who is a hunter as well. Before becoming a hunter, one has to take the hunter examination which consists of lots of difficult tasks. Here, Gon meets his companions, Killua, Kurapika and Leorio. 

Not much spoiler there for other people's benefit. Nevertheless, I have to say, watching the first episode was quite something because I think it would take a lot of getting used to with all the new seiyuus and stuff but it was good. There are still some things that they left out though since it was a pretty much fast-paced episode. It was like squeezing the first 3 episodes in the original anime to fit into just one episode. Makes you think of FMA: Brotherhood. Moving on, personally, I think meeting Kaito (Kite) the hunter was an important part to show but they didn't and that's one chunk missing for those who don't know Hunter X Hunter. Mito's voice actress sounds a little old than what she looks like, it was creepy. I had a bit of goosebumps there. Gon sounds extra cuter which is a bit weird but no complaints. I love Leorio so far. Kurapika was good but nothing special really. I can't wait for Killua's appearance since he's my favorite HxH character and how he would be portrayed would, I think, make or break this series. 

As for the music, it was pretty decent. It was good but I have to say, I loved Ohayou before. I read in the anime forums that the background music sucks but I don't see how although it was nothing great as well. 

There's still lots of things to take into account but the animation, especially with the modern technology and everything, is great compared to an anime made 10 years ago. I mean, come on, obviously. 

Let's just watch how this remake would turn out. I heard that this will run for 45+++ episodes. What happens by then would determine if they would continue doing HxH until the end. 

Kudos to Madhouse for a good remake. I hope it gets better. :-)

Ao NO EXoRCist!!! - unexpectedly flabbergasting!

First off, it's been approximately 7 months or so since I last made a review. Well, that has something, wait, no, EVERYTHING to do with LAW SCHOOL! It's been a month since summer break started and I still a month more to enjoy the rest of this blissful vacay. If you're asking why I just made a review now, that would be because I was busy reading manga and the only anime I watched this summer so far was Ao no Exorcist. I did watch the first episode of Deadman Wonderland which I just recently finished reading the manga till the last update before the first ep was released. I just hate to tell you this but it was rather a bit disappointing so I haven't watched any episodes after it. The other anime released at the same time the first episode of Deadman Wonderland came out was Ao no Exorcist. I was a bit hesitant to watch it because the trailer was good but not really enough to get me interested but I watched it anyway and I was totally flabbergasted! I didn't expect the anime to be so good and I haven't read the manga by then, really!

Ao no Exorcist (aka Blue Exorcist) tells the story of Rin Okumura who after some unfortunate events lead him to go on a journey to become the most powerful exorcist and beat the hell out of Satan who happens to be his father. Confused? I just told you the general concept of the whole story. The whole story is about the whole world is divided into two dimensions where humans live in a world we call Assiah and demons live in Gehanna. Interference between these two dimensions is not allowed but despite all this demons still interfere in Assiah by possessing creatures or objects. Exorcists exist solely to maintain peace and order in Assiah by exterminating these demons. The ambitious Satan wanted to dominate Assiah and to realize this, Rin bore the curse of being Satan's illegitimate son who possesses a body that of Assiah and a soul that of Gehanna. Rin's foster father, who is an exorcist, sacrificed himself to save Rin and his death made Rin want to take the path of being an exorcist and beat Satan.

Well, that was interesting enough. After watching the 2nd episode, I read the whole manga until its recent chapter. I have to say, Ao no Exorcist is one of the few anime series that won't disappoint you after reading the manga. You know, I have this flaw, when I start reading the manga, I lose interest in watching the anime or that I am not so enthusiastic in watching it. I just watch it for the sake of watching it. Well, most of the times that is. Ao no Exorcist won't disappoint you and the seiyuus are very amazing! The songs? SUPERB! Come on, Uverworld as opening and 2pm, a good korean band, as ending, NICE! READY READY READY for the TAKE OFF! :-)

Ao no Exorcist is one of the best anime so far this 2011! :-)

Angel Beats -- left me with mixed emotions!

     Angel Beats is one of those uniquely mind-boggling anime that would leave you wanting for more when it ends and makes your mind think of what-ifs or leaves you with more questions than when you started it. Amazingly, this anime just had everything in it without ruining the whole series. What I am trying to say is that, in this anime we find just the right amount of humor in it, and a lot of emotional/sentimantal scenes in it but has great action as well! I found myself laughing so much and silently wiping off those tears I tried not to shed as well. All in all this is one anime that makes you reflect on a lot of things.
     Before everything else, Angel Beats is an anime which dives into a world where people who get stuck in it because they died with regrets or, more or less, were not able to fulfill their dreams. This another concept of what we call "purgatory". Human souls are sucked into this world and we then find the protagonist, Otonashi, who suddenly finds himself waking up in this world without an inkling of what is happening. Imagine waking up one day only to find someone who suddenly tells you "You are dead". Otonashi joins this certain group who calls themself the Afterlife Battlefront and fights with them against a girl whom they call "Angel" or tenshi in japanese. From here on, he struggles together with his newfound friends to understand what the purpose of this world's creation to human souls such as theirs.
     I love this anime because it had lots of emotional stuffs going on amidst all the battles of the Afterlife Battlefront. The ending was quite heart-wrenching too but, nevertheless, quite satisfying and unexpected too. The anime's soundtrack is also very good and we get to see this anime band called "Girls Dead Monster" which is of course was made for this anime only but their songs were quite good. I loved their "Crow Song" the best.
     Well, what more can I say? This anime is amazing! I recommend this to anyone who wants a lot of action in an anime with humor and emotional stuff! Have a great time watching this unique anime that would satisfy your needs of a totally different kind of anime.

Amazing! High School of the Dead has paved its way to awesomeness!

This anime series has so much in it that you should not miss this at all!!!! NEVER! This anime is very unique in more ways than just one. This is all about zombies, yeah -- zombies, but I love how they present the story. I know you have seen movies like Dawn of the Dead and all that crap (but I haven't!) but I do not know why I love this anime so much even after just watching the first episode. First of all, before I go on telling all the things I love about this anime, I'll just tell you a lil bit of what I know about it. This series is all about Japan being flooded by zombies and also the rest of the world for that matter. It centers on a group of high school students trying to survive until this mess actually ends. Sounds a little bit boring and a bit stereotypical but don't get fooled because, mind you, just watching the first episode would make you get hooked up with this anime.

I love everything about this anime. It has nice drawing (a lot of ecchi stuff too which I usually hate). The music is amazing and the best part is that the plot presentation. I love how the plot develops in a smooth way and haven't I mentioned that action scenes fill up more than 70% of each episode? Not to mention all the blood and gore that it has too!
If you want some new kind of anime and a good watch -- I recommend this anime to every anime freak out there! You'll definitely have a good time on this one! :-)

Hilarious B Gata H Kei!!!!

This is a series I just finished last week and it was so fun the whole time. It was about a popular girl named Yamada whom anyone would think has a lot of sexual experiences when, in reality, she doesn't have any of those things. To spice things up, she sets a goal of having a hundred fuck buddies to learn a lot about sex. There she goes looking for a perfect target for her first fuck buddy and then she nevertheless choose a guy who also doesn't have any experience like her. This is where the story starts rolling.

In this anime, we find the protagonist going through a lot just to have that first time but in her journey towards that ultimate goal, she learns a lot of things -- that sex is not what it is if it is not that with the right person. Although she climbed hills and mountains to have that first time, she gets to understand what love is and learn what love is all about.
I like this series in a way because it makes you laugh a lot. A good series to watch on those boring days. Really.

Gundam Seed - a nice spectacle!

Gundam Seed is the 3rd Gundam series that I watched and it was an unexpected delight although it has its own flaws but it was still a great watch. Shouldn't expect less for a Gundam series.
Gundam Seed is all about the same usual plot that we see with other Gundam series but very unique in its own way. This series is all about the protagonist, Kira, who is a pacifist but was eventually thrown into a war he was not willing to take part in and in which he plays a very big role. The series happens at a time where mankind is divided into two - the 'Naturals' (ordinary human beings) and the 'Coordinators' (human beings that are genetically altered to have unnatural abilities that make them stronger than most people). During this time, an unfortunate event caused a huge conflict between the two that resulted to an all-out war that would eventually mean the eradication of one or the other because either don't have any wish to co-exist with the other. In the middle of this huge war are two friends who are forced to fight each other for the things that they want to protect but could they ever find a way to escape this path that they are pushed into taking?
What I love about this Gundam series is the friendship that the two main characters share. Although the mobile suits are a bit lame compared to Gundam 00 but Freedom and Justice were amazing. The only downside that I see with this series is that it was dragged too much in its first 20+ episodes which I, obviously, don't appreciate but the 2nd half makes up for it especially the last 10 episodes which was really fast-paced.
I am looking forward to watching Gundam Seed Destiny ASAP if I ever have the time to watch it since I enjoyed watching Gundam Seed and I hope it won't be a disappointment.

Itazura na kiss - shojo cliche yet enjoyable!

Itazura no Kiss is one of the few shoujo anime that I have watched that has the stereotypical shoujo theme in it which, for the most part, I hate. Despite that, I , surprisingly, enjoyed watching it.
Itazura no Kiss is about this dumb girl, Kotoko, who has a huge crush on Irie who happens to be the number one in almost everything in school, heck, even the whole of Japan! Kotoko decided to confess her feelings to Irie by giving him a love letter only to be rejected right on the spot. Poor Kotoko... what should a girl at such a tender age do after this heartbreaking encounter with her first love? Give up or pursue endlessly on this one-sided love affair? Kotoko's life was about to change and how would she react when she finds out that she has to live under the same roof with the very guy who rejected her?!?! Is this torture or a blessing in disguise, maybe. Only a couple of episodes, and throw in some junk food on the table, would you be able to find out.
I enjoyed watching this anime because it has a lot of hilarious stuff in it but it wasn't too much for my taste. Although I do hate the protagonist but I admire her, in a way, because she doesn't give up that easily and I just don't wanna think about how dumb she is. Ultimately, I love Naoki Irie! Woohoo!!!!
If you are about to decide on watching a romantic comedy shoujo anime then this is one of the few that you have to watch and I tell you there are still a lot to choose from if you want this kind of anime. I'm gonna make reviews of those when I have the time.

MIND-BOGGLING KUROZUKA!!!!

              There's only one-word that best describes this anime --- MIND-BOGGLING! Dont'get the wrong idea because I love those kind of anime that makes my mind work its way around the story/plot. What I am trying to say is that this anime makes you think on a lot of things especially since it is not presented in its chronological order. It keeps going back and forth from the past, present, and, maybe, the future as well. I really don't know.

              This anime is actually a very twisted story about an immortal couple. At the beginning, we see Kuro,  who at a young age was given the task to lead his clan, with his disciple, Benkei. A lot of people are after Kuro's life which gives him no choice but to lead a life of constant vigilance. Some time when Kuro and Benkei were travelling at the mountains, they came by a shelter that was owned by a beautiful maiden named Kuromitsu. The inevitable attraction Kuro and Kuromitsu have for each other led them to their own demise or maybe not but this is certainly the start of a twisted life they lead from there on.

              What I really, REALLY love about this anime are the ACTION SCENES!!! They're one of the most amazing anime actions I have, by far, encountered in this freakish anime life that I lead but you do get what I mean right? So if you are up to some cool blood-gushing, blood-draining, "matrix-ey" action scenes then I will surely have to recommend KUROZUKA to you! I also love the story! It is not as simple as you think it may be and I just love it. I also know that there are a lot of people there that think otherwise but, well, this is my life so I don't give a damn what you say! PEACE! Well, just try watching it though! It only lasts for 12 episodes so it's not that long!
